School Superintendent Andrew Selesnick made the announcement Friday.

John Jay High School Principal Jessica Godin has resigned her position, effective immediately, for “personal reasons,” Katonah-Lewisboro School Superintendent Andrew Selesnick announced Friday.

Details on the abrupt resignation were not immediately available. Godin became principal of John Jay on July 1, 2014. Prior to that, she served as principal of Katonah Elementary School.

The vacancy temporarily will be filled by Assistant Principals Gil Cass and Kim Piccolino, as district officials begin seeking a permanent replacement. No time frame was announced.

We have immediately begun the process of filling the vacancy and expect to share more detail with you in the coming days. In the meantime, our high school is under the able leadership of our Assistant Principals with support from their administrative colleagues. Until you hear further, any question or concern you would typically direct to the Principal may be directed to Mr. Gil Cass or Ms. Kim Piccolino.

While we recognize that some in our community will have questions for us about Principal Godin’s departure, we remind all that we can never comment on personnel matters and we wish to respect Ms. Godin’s right to privacy. We ask simply that you join us in wishing her the very best.

Sincerely,

Andrew Selesnick
