Judge Tosses Lawsuit Alleging Parasites In Water

The suit alleged the county had been knowingly providing drinking water containing parasites.

SCARSDALE, NY — A lawsuit filed accusing Westchester County of knowingly providing drinking water with parasites to Westchester Water District No. 1 has been tossed out by a federal judge. The judge said the suit, filed by Jeffrey Levin of Scarsdale, wasn’t necessary because the county’s water was already being monitored by the EPA under a 2015 agreement.

The agreement requires that two new water-treatment facilities be completed and comply with federal regulations by the end of 2018, the Journal News said. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
