UPDATE: Man Killed by Metro North Train Near Hartsdale Station

Updated at 5:26 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015: Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney confirmed that the man who was struck by a train Wednesday near the Hartsdale station was killed:

The Metro-North Police are investigating a fatality that occurred at the Hartsdale Train Station. This incident occurred at approximately 4:00pm, and the investigation is expected to continue for several hours. Commuters are advised to avoid the area if possible. As of 4:45pm, Metro-North is reporting 15-20 minute delays in train service.

Metro-North sent out an alert at about 4:45 p.m. that trains along the Harlem Line were experiencing delays of 15 to 20 minutes “due to police department activity in the area.”
