FOLLOW UP TO LAST MONTHS TRAGIC ACCIDENT ON EAST HARTSDALE AVE
COMMUNITY MEETING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12 AT TOWN HALL TO DISCUSS INFRASTRUCTURE SAFETY IMPROVEMENT OPTIONS
Last month there was a tragic accident on E Hartsdale Ave resulting in the loss of life of our former Manager of the Hartsdale Parking District, Stephanie Kavourias. All the members of the Town Board promised that we will work hard to make East Hartsdale Ave safer.

A meeting will be held tomorrow: Thursday, October 12 at 7 PM at Town Hall to discuss one aspect of the safety campaign: infrastructure improvement options. We will be meeting with our consultant. This meeting is open to all. Your input is welcome and appreciated. We had received a grant from Senator Cousins last year for 5 million to address both E Hartsdale Ave and W Hartsdale Ave. A sidewalk is also planned for W Hartsdale Ave. We anticipate that the work will be completed in 2025.

East/West Hartsdale Avenue Transportation Safety Improvements - This outreach meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th at 7:00pm and will be held in the Town Hall Auditorium and hybrid, via Zoom video conference. A description of the project is as follows: the design and construction of a project that will include (1) an approximately 6,000 linear ft. new sidewalk and drainage infrastructure along West Hartsdale Avenue from Central Park Avenue (at Four Corners) north to Pat Capone Road; (2) updated signalization via an Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) along East Hartsdale Avenue; and (3) pedestrian safety enhancements along East Hartsdale Avenue, from Four Corners to the Hartsdale Train Station
