NSCF Summer Chess Programs: Immersive Learning Changes the Game
Exercising mind and body this summer, kids explore chess topics from multiple angles during Chess Camp at the Leffell School.

Academic summer camps offer the perfect balance of mental stimulation and physical activity during the long summer break, and the National Scholastic Chess Foundation's chess program in Hartsdale stands out for its exceptional impact on young minds.
"The depth and intensity of learning at NSCF Summer Camp creates growth opportunities you won't find elsewhere," explains NSCF Executive Director Matan Prilleltensky. "Kids are fully immersed in chess, exploring topics from multiple angles: personalized lessons with master instructors, engaging puzzles to solve, collaborative group work, and interactive solution reviews. And that's just part of the morning!"
This immersive approach delivers remarkable results that parents notice. "Families consistently report significant improvements in their child's chess skills and tournament performance after camp," Mr. Prilleltensky notes. " It makes sense: The hard work on their game translates into competitive results."

Perfect for Players of All Levels
While competitive players thrive at NSCF, beginners are equally welcome. "Our camps have a proud tradition of introducing chess to new players," Mr. Prilleltensky explains. "Many of our students approach chess as a fun hobby. Seeing their excitement as they conquer new challenges is incredibly rewarding!"
