The Osborn Presents Author of “All the Beauty in the World”

The Osborn will host Patrick Bringley, author of "All the Beauty in the World," on Thursday, April 16

The Osborn will host Patrick Bringley, author of “All the Beauty in the World,” on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 pm. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at The Osborn Auditorium (101 Theall Road, Rye, NY).

This acclaimed book tells the story of Patrick Bringley, a former staff member of The New Yorker, who spends a decade as a museum guard in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When Patrick’s older brother was diagnosed with fatal cancer, he found himself needing to escape the mundane clamor of daily life. So he quit The New Yorker and sought solace in the most beautiful place he knew. As his bonds with his colleagues and the art grow, he comes to understand how fortunate he is to be walled off in this

little world, and how much it resembles the best aspects of the larger world to which he gradually, gratefully returns.
