Police Confirm Man Who Confessed to Shooting is Wanted in Georgia

The fatal shooting take place in 2012.

SCARSDALE, NY — Police in Georgia have confirmed that a man who walked into the Scarsdale police station Friday and confessed to a shooting was the man for whom they were looking since 2012.

Kwayne Dozier, who is also known as Kwame Dozier, was accused in the fatal shooting of Ladell Crumpton Jan. 8, 2012, lohud.com said. The shooting, in which another man was injured, was thought to be drug- and gang-related.

An article at NorthFulton.com dated Jan. 8, 2012, said someone knocked on Crumpton’s door, and when he answered it, he was shot immediately in the neck with a handgun.

Crumpton was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
