SBNC Announces Election Results

Two candidates from each of Scarsdale's five neighborhoods were chosen to join the School Board Nominating Committee in yesterday's elections.

The ballots have been counted, and the winners are in! Here's the new members of the Scarsdale School Board Nominating Committee (SBNC): 

Edgewood: Kathryn Conlon and Mary Beth Evans 

Fox Meadow: Diane Baylor and Mary Lou D'Silva

Greenacres: Dana Matsushita and Barry Meiselman

Heathcote: Amy Cohen Bauman and Peggy DaSilva

Quaker Ridge: Debbie Hochberg and Tracy Nathanson

All six proposed amendments to the SBNC'S governing document were approved by the election's 528 voters -- a substantial increase from last year's tally of 381. Here's how each neighborhood measured up: 

Edgewood: 101 ballots

Fox Meadow: 138 ballots

Greenacres: 76 ballots

Heathcote: 108 ballots

Quaker Ridge: 105 ballots 

The 10 newly-elected SBNC members will join 20 other committee members serving staggered three-year terms. 

The SBNC's first meeting will take place this Sunday, Jan. 22. In March, they will nominate two candidates for the Scarsdale Board of Education. These candidates will be up for public election on May 15.
