Scarsdale Man Arraigned On Child Porn Charges

He appeared in Greenburgh Town Court.

SCARSDALE, NY — A Scarsdale man was accused Thursday of having and sharing images of children engaged in obscene sexual performances. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. said he pleaded not guilty.

Lorcan Geraghty, 47, was charged in Greenburgh Town Court with:

  • one count of Promoting An Obscene Sexual Performance By A Child, a class “D” Felony,
  • one count of Possessing An Obscene Sexual Performance By A Child, a class “E” Felony.

The Westchester District Attorney’s Office alleged an investigator determined between Sept. 17 and 19 that the defendant promoted an image containing an obscene performance including sexual conduct by a child less than 17 years of age.

On Thursday, DA’s Office investigators executed a search warrant at Geraghty's residence and recovered computer devices. Forensic analyses on the devices resulted in the recovery of additional files depicting children engaged in obscene sexual performances, prosecutors alleged.

His bail was set at $25,000 cash over $50,000 bond. If convicted, he faces seven years in state prison.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Laura Forbes of the High Technology Crime Bureau.
