Scarsdale Middle School Hosts 'Walk to School Day' Oct. 7

The event promotes Safe Routes to Schools.

Scarsdale Middle School’s Physical Education Department hosts its annual “Walk to School Day” event tomorrow, Oct. 7, beginning at 7:15 a.m.

The event promotes Safe Routes to Schools, and offers students a stronger sense of the SMS Community, District goals of meaningful interactions with adults and healthy living, according to officials.

Additionally, the activity is part of the district’s Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program, “CSPAP.” A component of Shape America, our Society of Health and Physical Educators, CSPAP promotes Staff Involvement, Physical Activity during school, Physical Education, Physical Activity before and after school and Family & Community Engagement.

Below are some of the walk’s start locations. Students are encouraged to arrive by 7:15 a.m.:

  • Corner of Mamaroneck Road and Garden: Mr. Raff
  • Corner of Mamaroneck Road & Murray Hill
