Scarsdale Neighborhood Avoids Explosive Situation

A leaking propane tank at a residence on Saxon Woods Road Tuesday required a local HAZMAT team to burn off the remaining contents, a move that helped avoid a potential explosion.

News 12 reports that that a contractor smelled fumes coming from the tank and called emergency personnel. No injuries were reported.

The HAZMAT team opted to burn off the contents instead of trying to cap the leak.
