REC Youth Basketball Programs Update - OCT 6The Scarsdale REC Department currently has plans in place to conduct its 2021-2022 Youth Basketball League (Saturdays GR3-GR8) and Youth Clinics (Sundays K-GR2) but we are currently in a holding pattern. Typically RECONLINE registration starts October 1. Pre-season practices start late November and regular season games start December through March.However this year we pushed everything back a few months. Although the school district has given approval to use their indoor gyms, the School District and Recreation Department are still awaiting updated COVID-19 guidelines for recreation and youth “INDOOR” sports from CDC, NYS, Westchester County Departments of Health, and NYS Public High School Athletic Association which includes Section 1 (Westchester) Athletics. Most importantly are the MASK guidelines and protocols for coaches, players and spectators.We believe there should be an update sooner versus later and as soon as we know, we will communicate and post on our REC website.Based on the above, our current plan is to start RECONLINE registration on November 1, team practices start in December, official games (Saturdays and Weekdays) starting in January through March and the K-2 basketball clinics (Sundays) starting in January through March also.We appreciate everyone's patience.
