Scarsdale Wins AAA’s Annual Traffic Safety Program Award

The village also received a special citation for having four consecutive years with zero pedestrian fatalities.

SCARSDALE, NY — The Village of Scarsdale won a Gold Award in AAA Northeast’s Community Traffic Safety Awards Program, Director of Public/Government Affairs & Traffic Safety, John Corlett announced today. The village was cited for its many traffic safety efforts including strict enforcement of vehicle traffic violations, and participation in various enforcement initiatives such as Click It or Ticket, Stop DWI and Buckle Up New York.

The village also received a special citation for having four consecutive years with zero pedestrian fatalities.

All award winners in the New York metropolitan area were honored during a luncheon ceremony held Oct. 25 at the Garden City Hotel. AAA Northeast, the local AAA affiliate, presented a total of 51 awards.

AAA has long recognized communities that make outstanding efforts to make the region’s roads safer for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

AAA Northeast is a not-for-profit member service organization with 65 offices in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island providing more than 5.7 million local AAA members with roadside assistance, travel, insurance, finance and auto-related services.
