Scarsdale's Fickle Forecast: Flooding, Storms, Sun This Weekend

From a Hazardous Outlook to a cold front to a unusual lack of humidity, this weekend around Hartsdale will have it all.

SCARSDALE, NY — Friday's rain is ushering in some changeable weather. Cooler and drier air will gradually take control, forecasters say, but not before a line of thunderstorms come through. By Sunday, most of the Hudson Valley can expect some sunshine with what is unusual for July — low humidity.

The National Weather Service updated its Hazardous Weather Outlook at 4 a.m. Friday, warning of possible flooding Friday due to heavy rainfall.

"The rain showers should taper off around midday on Friday, with some breaks of sun likely during the mid to late afternoon hours," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Then late on Saturday, the NWS said, a cold front will pass through the area, resulting in the chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be warmer on Saturday with highs mainly in the low to mid 80s, with a few spots possibly topping off around 90. The front will clear the region Saturday evening resulting in clearing skies for the remainder of the weekend.
