Speed Enforcement Detail Yields DWI Arrest
The alleged drunk driver also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

SCARSDALE, NY — State Police nabbed one alleged drunk driver during a Speed Enforcement Detail Thursday on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers. Police said that after stopping a vehicle for a driver not wearing a seat belt, Joseph Vartuli, 21, of Mount Vernon, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Police said he provided an allegedly positive breath sample of 0.12 percent blood-alcohol content during processing.
Vartuli was later arraigned in the City of Yonkers Court.
