Thanksgiving 2015: What's Open/What's Closed in Scarsdale

Thanksgiving Day is here. It’s also the start of the holiday season.

This year, like last year, we only have 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas so you’ll have to cram in your shopping in a four-week period.

Below we have a list of what’s open and closed on Thanksgiving Day, as well as town offices that are also closed on Friday, Nov. 27.

What’s closed:

• Scarsdale area schools and education offices
• All village government offices
• Post Office
• The public libraries
• Banks on Thursday, most re-open on Friday
• Courts
• State and Federal government offices
• Garbage and recycling normally collected on Thursday was likely collected yesterday, November 25. Check with your individual community for differing dates.
• REI: Black Friday Sale? Not at REI This Thanksgiving

What’s open:

Check with individual restaurants and retailers.

Metro-North Railroad will have additional trains running into and out of Grand Central Terminal before and after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Click below for train times.
