U.S. News Ranks Edgemont And Scarsdale High Schools Among Best In NY

U.S News and World Report ranked Edgemont and Scarsdale high schools among the top 500 high schools in the country.

and both received top honors from U.S News and World Report's 2012 edition.

The two high schools received gold medals, a top honor from the news magazine. Out of the 22,000 schools evaluated by U.S. News, only 500 received gold medals.

Today, U.S. News released its fourth edition of the Best High Schools rankings, according to its website.

"U.S. News partnered with the Washington, D.C.-based American Institutes for Research (AIR), which implemented U.S. News's rankings methodology," the site reports.

Edgemont Junior/Senior High School received 19th place in the New York state rankings and 96th place in the national rankings.

Scarsdale High School is rated 47th in the New York state rankings and 315th nationally by U.S. News.
