Weekend DWI Arrest Leads to Drug Bust

On Saturday morning, a Mount Vernon resident who was arrested for drunk driving near the intersection of Post Road and Wayside Lane was discovered with crack cocaine.

Early Saturday morning, a Mount Vernon resident who was arrested for drunk driving near the intersection of Post Road and Wayside Lane was caught once more by police with his pants down – this time, literally.

Michael Green, 32, was charged with possession of crack cocaine after being placed in a holding cell by Officer Ronnie Arefieg at Scarsdale Police headquarters.

Arefieg observed Green’s hand down his pants, which were hanging low and exposing his buttocks. Arefieg ordered Green to pull his pants back up, at which time a plastic bag fell out of his anus containing nine individual wrapped bags of cocaine.

Green had been arrested at approximately 4:15 a.m. by Arefieg after he was pulled over for driving 60 miles per hour while traveling southbound on Post Road.

Arefieg smelled alcohol and marijuana on Green’s breath, and noted that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his speech slurred. Green was charged with DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana, and was subsequently taken to police headquarters for further police action.

Green, who is temporarily living in Mount Vernon despite owning a driver’s license with an Atlanta, Ga. address, was arraigned at Scarsdale Village Court on Saturday morning and remanded to Westchester County Jail with no bail.
