Yorktown Lawyer Hopes To Become Westchester’s Next District Attorney

Former Judge Rory J. Bellantoni plans to challenge Janet DiFiore in November 2013 election.

Yorktown Attorney Rory J. Bellantoni, a former state and county judge who is now in private practice, hopes to replace Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore in the November 2013 election.

Bellantoni, 43, served as a County Court judge, acting New York State Supreme Court justice and acting Family Court judge from 2003 to 2009. After two years as a partner with Lovett & Bellantoni LLP in Hawthorne, he launched The Bellantoni Law Firm LLP in Scarsdale in May 2011. Matters handled by the firm include discrimination, civil rights, family law, matrimonial law, commercial litigation, criminal defense, pistol permit issues, personal injury, negligence, First Amendment and sexual harassment. The Republican received a B.A. degree in political science and classical civilization from Fordham University in 1991 and a juris doctor degree from Fordham School of Law in 1995. He followed in the footsteps of his father, veteran state Supreme Court Justice Orazio R. Bellantoni, who received his juris doctor degree from Fordham Law in 1966.
