1 Injured In Mastic Fire Tuesday Evening: Suffolk Police

The person was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, cops say.

MASTIC, NY — One person was injured in a fire in Mastic on Tuesday evening, Suffolk police said.

Police said they responded to a fire at a location on Mastic Boulevard at about 5:20 p.m. after being notified by a 911 caller. Police could not confirm an initial report that the person was injured in a kitchen fire inside a home.

The injured person was transported to the parking lot outside of Applebee's in Shirley where they were picked up by helicopter for treatment at Stony Brook University Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
