2018 Election Preview: New York's 3rd Senate District

LONG ISLAND, NY — The 2018 midterm elections take place on Tuesday and New York voters have several important decisions to make.

Long Island residents will get a chance to vote for the candidates vying in the race for New York's 3rd Senate District this Election Day.

Here's what you need to know before heading out to the polls this November:

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 6

Polling Times: Polls will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Candidates: Monica Martinez (D) and Dean Murray (R) are facing off in the race.

District: New York State's 3rd Senate District is made up Mastic, Shirley, Sayville, Patchogue, Medford, Ronkonkoma and parts of Happauge and Brentwood.
