A $3,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the conviction of whoever abandoned the three cats, SPCA says.
SHIRLEY, NY — Three cats were abandoned in a wooded area in Shirley, officials said Friday.
The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward and the New York State Humane Association is offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever abandoned three cats on Wednesday near the intersection of Dawn Drive and Park Avenue, across from a ball field.
The cats, found by a good Samaritan, are being cared for and treated by a rescue group, the SPCA said. The cats are suffering from a health condition that requires veterinary care. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
