3 Stranded Boaters Rescued From Moriches Bay: USCG
A 31-foot boat was disabled and needed a tow to the Forge River Marina in Mastic, Petty Officer John Hightower said Friday.
MORICHES BAY, NY — Three people were rescued from aboard a disabled 31-foot boat in Moriches Bay early Friday morning, a United States Coast Guard Petty Officer John Hightower said.
The boat's rudder was not functioning properly while the three were out on the bay and a Coast Guard vessel from East Moriches responded to tow the vessel into the Forge River Marina in Mastic just after midnight, according to Petty Officer Hightower.
No injuries were reported.
