National Night Out Set For Tuesday Night At Fireman's Field In Ridge

It will include softball games between corrections and deputies, Bingo with prizes, free ice cream, and barbecue.

RIDGE, NY — Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon and the Town of Brookhaven are hosting a National Night Out event Tuesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fireman's Memorial Park in Ridge.

The event, which generally draws more than 2,000 residents, will include a deejay, interactive games, Sheriff's vehicles, Ridge Fire Department demonstrations and dozens of non-profit and government partners offering free giveaways.

The event will also include softball games between corrections and deputies, Bingo with prizes, free ice cream, the Ridge Fire Department offering BBQ and demonstrations, and a tug-of-war.

Hockey, golf, and soccer games with officers, face painting, free medical and child IDs, as well as nearly 70 vendors with giveaways will take place at the event.

National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer places to live, officials say.

It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances, according to officials.
