MASTIC BEACH, NY — A vehicle fire prompted the evacuation of a home in Mastic Beach on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.
A torch was left inside the vehicle, which was parked about three feet from the home, melting its siding, according to police.
There was no structural damage to the house, and no one was hurt, police said.
It happened at around 3 p.m.
