NY Knicks Basketball Legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier To Appear At Brookhaven's Annual 3-On-3 Tournament

The hall of famer will serve as announcer, meet with players, and help entertain spectators throughout the evening, town officials say.

MASTIC, NY — New York Knicks legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Walt "Clyde" Frazier will make an appearance as an announcer at the Town of Brookhaven's annual Youth 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Sept. 18 at the Mastic Aquatic Center.

He will also meet with players, and help entertain players and spectators throughout the evening. His appearance will add a special New York basketball connection to an event that brings local teens together for an evening of friendly competition and community, town officials said.

A two-time NBA champion and seven-time NBA All-Star, Frazier helped lead the Knicks to championships in 1970 and 1973, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. After his hoops days, he became a longtime Knicks broadcaster and one of the most recognizable

personalities associated with New York basketball.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams, and all participating players will be entered into a raffle for a

chance to win a free bicycle. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.

The annual Youth 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is part of the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau's Safe Summer Program. For more information, call the Youth Bureau at 631-451-8011.

The tournament will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mastic Aquatic Center, 300 Mastic Beach Road in Mastic. There is no pre-registration, and players ages 13 to 18 will be randomly selected for teams on the night of the event.
