SHIRLEY, NY — The northeast pad of South Port Shopping Center is undergoing remodeling, which will likely match the rest of the venue.
The pad contains Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pacific Tanning, Jing Garden, Smoke Depot, Sally's Beauty Supply, UPS, and Savarona Pizza.
Signage has been removed from outside the stores, and replaced with banners.
"Please excuse our appearance while remodeling," a banner reads over Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
The pad's anchor space, which was a curtain store and once a Payless Shoe Store, is vacant.
The remodeling comes as the shopping center makes way for the latest local Home Goods store in eastern Suffolk County. The store is under construction and expected to open this fall, sometime between late September and early October, a representative for the property owner told Patch.
Nearby stores include Riverhead, Patchogue, Stony Brook, and Port Jefferson Station.
The property owner is constructing an addition to the north side of the building for more space.
Home Goods sells discounted housewares, such as furniture, bedding, rugs, and pet supplies.
Michael's left the spot, which is adjacent to Old Navy, last spring.
