ATV Seized After Rider Caught On Public Roads In Mastic Beach: Police
The vehicle "earned a temporary home" at the impound yard, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — An ATV was seized last week after a 19-year-old Shirley man was caught riding it on a public roadway in Mastic Beach, Suffolk police said.
He was stopped on the 2005 Yamaha Raptor near the intersection of Biltmore Drive and Wavecrest Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. on March 10, according to police.
The ATV was seized for verification of ownership, a police spokesperson said Monday.

The seizure was announced in a post to the 7th Precinct's Instagram page.
"Reminder: ATVs are not permitted on public roadways," the post read. "This rider thought otherwise ... and now his ATV has a new temporary home in our impound lot."

The 19-year-old was issued five summonses.
