10-Year-Old Boy Takes Parents' SUV For Joyride Down William Floyd Parkway, Crashes: Cops
He was in the SUV for about an half hour before it crashed near Whiskey Road in Ridge, but no one was injured, Suffolk police say.
RIDGE, NY — A 10-year-old boy behind the wheel of his parents' SUV went for a joyride down William Floyd Parkway in Ridge, Suffolk police said.
Seventh Precinct officers responded after a 10-year-old boy took his parents' Ford Expedition from a Briarcliffe Road home in Shoreham at around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, according to police.
The child drove for around 30 minutes until a tire blew, disabling the SUV, which came to a stop on the parkway, near Whiskey Road, in Ridge at around 4:45 p.m., police said.

No one was injured, but the boy was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, according to police.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
