Boy, 14, Struck While Riding Bike In Mastic Beach, Taken To Hospital: Police

He ran a stop sign at around 5:10 p.m., Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A 14-year-old riding a bicycle was taken to the hospital after being struck in Mastic Beach on Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

The 14-year-old boy was traveling southbound on Lakeview Drive, and ran a stop sign, then hit a 2018 Chevrolet eastbound on Dogwood Road at around 5:11 p.m., according to police.

He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said, adding that the driver was not hurt.

The bicyclist was not ticketed, according to police.
