VP Will Flower was at the Oct. 21 Town Board meeting to present a $1.25 million check to lawmakers.
Press release from the Town of Brookhaven:
Oct. 29, 2021
In May 2021, the Town of Brookhaven expanded its residential recycling program to include polypropylene #5 plastics. At that time, the Town’s Material Recycling Facility (MRF) in Yaphank was upgraded with a new sorting line to allow for the recovery of the #5 plastic from curbside recycling. Brookhaven residents responded with a significant boost in their recycling efforts which translated into an increase in the sale of recycling commodities.
