ScribeCraft is a hands-on workshop that invites participants to slow down and explore the craft behind writing itself.
During the ink and pen workshop at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library, you will make natural inks from simple materials, try out traditional writing tools, and create a short written piece. You will also take home the ink you blend, along with a deeper appreciation for how writing was practiced before modern tools. The workshop includes light historical context and plenty of room to experiment, creating a relaxed and creative experience that is welcoming, tactile, and accessible, with no prior art or writing experience required.
