Driver Arrested After Punching Another On Parkway On Long Island: Police
The other driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.
SHIRLEY, NY — A man has been arrested in connection with punching another driver on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
The man, a 41-year-old from Shirley, punched a driver near Sunrise Highway just after 3 p.m., according to police.
The other driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Deputy sheriffs, in the area on an unrelated matter, intervened and controlled the situation until police arrived, News 12 reported.

The police department's Public Information Bureau released the arrest information in response to a clip of video, circulating on social media, which was sent to them by a reporter.
It depicted the incident, which appeared to be in stopped traffic, between two men who were arguing. It appears to have been filmed from another vehicle.
More specific details about the incident were not released.
The 41-year-old was charged with second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor, and given a Field Appearance Ticket returnable to First District Court in Central Islip at a later date, police said.
