Drunk Driver Hurt As BMW Crashes Into Parked Vehicle In Mastic Beach: Police

UPDATE: The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A man was drunk behind the wheel of a BMW when it crashed into a parked vehicle in Mastic Beach on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.

The 51-year-old from Mastic Beach, was driving a 2005 BMW and struck a parked vehicle on Laurelton Drive just after 11 p.m., according to police.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, according to police.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip, and was released on his own recognizance, online court records show.

He is being represented by an attorney from the Legal Aid Society, which does not comment on cases.
