3 Hurt After Drunk Driver Hits Motorcycle, SUV: Police
A 31-year-old man was arrested after he fled the scene of the crash Sunday night, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A Bay Shore man was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist and his passenger injured, police said.
The crash took place on the William Floyd Parkway Shirley on Sunday at 9:25 p.m.
Deris Medlock, 31, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox north on the parkway near Lyndale Court when the vehicle left the roadway; when he attempted to return to the roadway, the Equinox struck a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2017 Honda CRV that were traveling north, police said.

Medlock fled, heading east on Lyndale Court, then crashed into an unoccupied parked car in the driveway of a home located on Lyndale Court, police said.
A 54-year old Shirley woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries; her husband, the 58-year old driver of the motorcycle, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries, police said. Medlock was transported to Long Island Community Hospital with minor injuries; the four people in the Honda were not injured, police said.

Medlock was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident, police said. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Monday morning, police said.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
