Duo Smash Kia With Baseball Bat On Highway In Suffolk: Police

The two pulled up next to the Kia, and one of them smashed it with a baseball bat, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding the people who, police said, damaged a vehicle in Mastic last year.

A 2023 Kia was traveling eastbound on Montauk Highway, east of Bonny Drive, when a gray four-door sedan, occupied by two people, pulled alongside the Kia at 10:40 a.m. Oct. 22, police said. One of the occupants reached out the window and used a baseball bat to damage the Kia, police said. They are wanted for criminal mischief.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
