First Responders Tackle Shirley House Fire: Police

There were people home when the fire broke out, officials say.

SHIRLEY, NY— A house fire broke out in Shirley Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, officers responded to a house fire at 11:51 a.m. on Dec. 16 on Floyd Road; Brookhaven fire marshals also responded to the scene.

According to officials at the scene, Mastic, Brookhaven, and Ridge Fire Departments responded. The house was reportedly occupied but no one was injured, sources at the scene said, but that information could not be immediately confirmed.
