Former Ranger Tom Laidlaw To Appear At LI National Night Out Event

Thousands are expected to attend the popular event hosted by the Suffolk Sheriff's Office at Fireman's Memorial Park in Ridge.

RIDGE, NY — Former New York Rangers hockey player Tom Laidlaw will be on hand Tuesday at the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office's Fireman's Memorial Park in Ridge to meet residents and help with ball hockey demonstrations and lessons.

The event, which will be co-hosted by the Town of Brookhaven, generally draws over 2,000 people, will feature a deejay, games, and dozens of non-profit and government partners offering free giveaways.

There will be softball games between Sheriff’s Office and Brookhaven officials, a tug-o-war, Bingo with prizes, and the ·Sheriff's vehicles will be on display. The Ridge Fire Department will be offering a barbecue and demonstrations, and there will also be a free ice cream truck.

The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m.

Fireman's Memorial Park is located at 724 Middle Country Rd.
