Info Sought On Hit-And-Run Driver Who Killed Dog: Suffolk PD
Suffolk police say the driver never stopped after striking the German Shepherd. The dog died on the way to the vet's office.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Suffolk police Crime Stoppers are offering a reward for information about a hit-and-run driver who they say struck a seven-year-old German Shepherd dog in Mastic Beach recently.
The dog had wandered into the street in front of a home on Spar Drive and was struck by a black sedan at about 9 p.m. on Jan. 15, police said. The car was described as dirty, with dark tinted windows, and a loud muffler, police said, adding that a witness says the driver never stopped and made a left on Grasmere Drive.
The dog died on the way to the veterinarian’s office, according to police.

Police have designated the crime leaving the scene of an accident without reporting, a misdemeanor.
