LI Man Arrested After Robbing Bank Twice: Police

One of the times he stole a truck for the robbery then ran away, Suffolk police said.

MEDFORD, NY — A Shirley man robbed a Medford bank twice since September and used a swiped truck at least once, Suffolk police said.

Suffolk detectives arrested Michael Imbese for robbing Suffolk Federal Credit Union on Horseblock Road in Medford on Sept. 28 and Nov. 6, police said.

Imbese stole a 1998 GMC truck that was parked on Equestrian Way in Brookhaven at about 1:35 p.m. on Nov. 6, and drove the truck near the bank, and then ran away, police said. No other details were released.

Imbese, 35, of Shirley, was charged with two counts of third-degree robbery and second-degree grand larceny. He will be held overnight at the 7th Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Nov. 12.
