LI Man Killed His Pregnant Girlfriend: Police
The man killed his girlfriend on LI; her body was found in Brooklyn, police say. He reportedly left the couple's son, 2, on a doorstep.
SHIRLEY, NY — A Shirley man has been arrested and charged with murdering his pregnant girlfriend and leaving her body outside her Brooklyn apartment, police said.
According to the NYPD, on Thursday at 6:25 p.m., Kelvin Philp, 25, of Boxwood Drive in Shirley, was arrested and charged with murder after Tatiana Walton, 27, was found dead on Lorraine St. in Brooklyn.
On Wednesday at 2:01 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious person on at the Red Hook Houses located in the 76th Precinct, police said in a release.

Upon arrival, officers found Walton unconscious and unresponsive; EMS responded to the location and transported her to Methodist Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
According to a report by the New York Daily News, police sources alleged that Philp killed Walton "somewhere near his Shirley, LI home" and "dumped her body" in Brooklyn because he didn't want her to have the baby; neither she nor the baby lived.

Newsday reported that the Brooklyn district attorney's office said Philp strangled Walton, who "died of asphyxiation due to neck compression," according to an autopsy, the criminal complaint cited in the Newsday post said.
He then reportedly left the 2-year old son he shared with Walton on a Queens doorstep before driving back to Long Island.
