- Shirley Mastic Moriches Library will be collecting nonperishable food items through Oct. 31 to help the countywide "Great Giveback." Your donations will make a difference on the table of families on Long Island facing food insecurity. Donations will be accepted during library hours. (Patch)
- An allegedly "racist" TikTok video was reported by parents of the Eastport South Manor school district. The content was removed from the social media platform, but according to reports, it showed students dancing to "racist music." Superintendent Joseph Steimel said the content did not represent the school community. No further details were released. (Patch)
- Stony Brook Mobile Mammography Van celebrates the 5,000 free cancer screening milestones! That incredible number was reached in the last four years. The van has been traveling to serve Long Islanders since 2018 with free screens for women aged 40 and up. (Dan's Papers)
