Long Island Supervisors Wage Friendly Bet On Football Championship
Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico is backing William Floyd, while Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino is backing Massapequa.
LONG ISLAND, NY — The bet is on the table so to speak.
Long Island town supervisors Dan Panico of Brookhaven and Joseph Saladino of Oyster Bay have a friendly bet on the Division 1 Long Island Football championship between William Floyd and Massapequa high schools Saturday at Stony Brook University.
In a post to Facebook Monday night, Panico said that if Floyd wins, Saladino will make a donation to the charity of his choice and take him to lunch at the iconic Massapequa mainstay, All-American Hamburger. If Massapequa wins, Panico will donate to a charity of Saladino’s choice and will take him to lunch at Mama Lisa Restaurant in Mastic.
