Longwood HS Students Honored With 4 Teeny Awards
The East End Arts Council's annual event was held at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
MIDDLE ISLAND, NY — Students from Longwood Senior High School took home four Teeny Awards — nearly sweeping the highly-coveted categories of lead male and female roles — at the East End Arts Council's annual event at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
Kiernan Urso took home two awards, one for Lead Male in a Play for his role of George Spelvin in “The Actor’s Nightmare," and the second, for Lead Male in a Musical/Mini-Musical for his portrayal of Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde in “Jekyll & Hyde."
Angelina Milici tied with Southold high schooler Juliet Rand for Lead Female in a Musical/Mini-Musical. Milici's honor was for her role of Lucy Harris in “Jekyll & Hyde." Rand's was for her role of Lady of the Lake in “Spamalot: The Socially Distant Concert-ish Version."

The students' performance of "Jekyll & Hyde" was one of two chosen by the judges who believed it stood out enough to warrant the special recognition, according to the Teeny Awards Facebook page. The second award went to Miller Place High School students for their performance of "Les Misérables."
