Man Beaten, Nearly Robbed In Mastic

He refused to give money to a trio of assailants on Friday night, Suffolk cops say.

MASTIC, NY — A man was beaten and nearly robbed on Friday in Mastic, Suffolk police said.

The man told officers that he was sitting in his car on Eleanor Avenue at about 5:15 p.m., when he was approached by three people he believes to be men, who beat him and tried to take money from him, according to police.

The trio left empty-handed and the man refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.
