Man Charged With Stabbing LI Grandfather To Death: Police
He's facing a second-degree murder charge, police say.
MASTIC, NY — A Brooklyn man was arrested Monday night after stabbing his grandfather to death in Mastic, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, John Pilgrim, 80, was at his home on Hounslow Road in Mastic at 7:45 p.m when his grandson Christopher Clarke stabbed him to death. Clarke then fled the scene on foot, police said.
Pilgrim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

Clarke was located and arrested at the Long Island Rail Road Station in Shirley at 9:41 p.m., police said. Suffolk County homicide squad detectives charged Clarke with second-degree murder, police said.
He is being held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, police said.
