Man Crashes Into Pedestrian, Pole, Charged With DWI: Cops
He lost control of his vehicle and hit both a pedestrian and a pole, police say.

MASTIC, NY — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after hitting a pedestrian and a pole in a Shirley crash Friday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, Steven Reid, 46, of Wyandanch, was arrested at 11:37 p.m. and charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Reid was driving a 2005 Ford SUV north on Mastic Rd. near Wilson Ave. when he lost control of the vehicle, police said.

The pedestrian was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
