Man Dies After Fight In Shirley, 2 Charged With Gang Assault: Police
The incident took place at a Shirley home; a man who rented a room at the home died after the fight, police say.
SHIRLEY, NY — A man died after a fight in Shirley Sunday, leading to two arrests, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place at 7:30 p.m. at a home on Hounslow Road. A resident of the home called 911 to report a fight that injured a man who rents a room at the location, police said.
When police arrived, they found Christopher Martin seriously injured, police said. Martin, 48, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Following an investigation, homicide squad detectives arrested Korey Sammarco, 36, who lives at the Hounslow Road home, and Melissa Fawcett, 50, Central Islip, on Monday and charged them with first-degree gang assault, police said.
Sammarco was slated to be held overnight at the Third Precinct and Fawcett was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct; both will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
