1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Long Island Crash
The driver, from Bellport, veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle, police say.
SHIRLEY, NY — The man killed in a Shirley crash Wednesday night has been identified as Angel Espiet, 26, of Bellport, police said.
Espiet was driving a 1992 Mazda westbound on Montauk Highway, near Smith Road, when his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and struck a 2017 Subaru traveling eastbound at 7:10 p.m., police said.
Espiet was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The driver of the Subaru, Dylan O’Brien, 24, and O’Brien’s passenger, Marissa Joynt, 23, of Shirley, were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
