Man Seriously Injured In Fall Off Of 8-Foot Ladder In Ridge: Cops

UPDATE: He had been standing at the top of an eight-foot ladder while installing gutters at the home when it slipped, cops say.

RIDGE, NY — A man working on the roof of a home in Ridge was seriously injured when he fell off of an eight-foot ladder on Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

The man had been standing at the top of an eight-foot ladder while installing gutters at the Conservation Circus home when the ladder slipped out from under him and he fell to the driveway at about 11:36 a.m., police said.

He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police said.

Detectives from the 7th Precinct in Shirley are investigating, according to a police spokeswoman.
